Brief description/ Remark
The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Mandsaur University organized aTour to Rajasthanfrom06th to 10th December 2021. Students have prepared 05 days itinerary to Rajasthan which includes destinations like Kumbhalgarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Pokhran, Indo-Pak border & Sum.
Day 01:
We have started from Mandsaur early morning at 5AM and reached Kumbhalgarh by 12pm. We have checked in the hotel and visited the historical Kumbhalgarh Fort which is known as “undefeated fort” and also famous for second longest wall in the world after The Great Wall of China. At evening we had a camp fire and DJ night. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02:
Early morning (6AM) we had started our journey towards Jodhpur which is known as blue city. On the route we even visited Bullet baba temple which is known that who comes to the aid of troubled travelers. We reached Jodhpur by afternoon and visited the majestic Jodhpur fort where we have learned the history of Rathore, their lifestyle, roots, style of architecture, etc., Students have went back in timeline and experienced the rich heritage of the Rajasthan. Umaid bhavan is another fantastic palace which is now under Taj group and visitors are allowed between 9AM-5PM (365 days).The Palace is divided into three functional parts – the residence of the royal family, a luxury Taj Palace Hotel, and a museum focusing on the 20th-century history of the Jodhpur Royal Family. we had overnight journey to Jaisalmer and check-in the hotel and took for rest of the night.
Day 03:
We have started at 9AM a full day heritage walk in the Jaisalmer city which includes Jaisalmer Fort, Patwa Haveli, Maharaja Palace and Gadisar lake. It was a new experience for students to watch how a whole city was setup in the fort during those days. Evening time is free for shopping and free activities. After long tiring day overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04:
We had early wake up and after breakfast transfer (9AM) to Thar desert camp at Sam Village. Now it is time to enjoy the real sand dunes with some adventure activities like Camel Safari, Desert Safari, ride on ATV’s etc., At evening after the adventure activities we had to move to back the resort and enjoyed the cultural program (Live Folk, Kalbelia Dance) with a Rajasthani Gala dinner. Overnight stay at swiss tent in Sam sand dunes.
Day05:
We had checkout the hotel after the breakfast (9AM) and visited the Tannotmaata temple and then Longewala (Last point of Indo-Pak border). Students have experienced the how army is struggling there for our safety and by seeing the museum they understood how Indian Army fought bravely during 1971 war. We then proceed to Ramdevra which is in Pokhran, a famous pilgrimage site of Rajasthan. Kuldahara is also place known as haunted village of Rajasthan where people of village disappeared overnight.
After visiting all the above mentioned destinations we have reached Mandsaur at 11:30PM with all wonderful memories of the trip

Outcome: Students got real time experience about heritage and adventure resources of the state
with knowledge about how to handle a group of tourists and about the routes of Rajasthan which
will be useful in their life.
