Brief description/ Remarks:
The Faculty of Life Sciences, Mandsaur University has organized an Alumni Interaction and MBSI award Ceremony on 15.04.2024 for the students of Life Sciences. The program started with welcoming of the alumni Ms. Aditi Dubey and Mr. Vishvjeet Singh, Trainee Assistant at IPCA Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh (B.Sc. Biotechnology Alumni 2023 Batch) by Mr. Yogendra K Verma, Head, Faculty of Life Sciences and Dr. Shekhar Jain, Associate Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences.
After introductory session, the alumni’s shared their experiences and guided the students on how to prepare for entrance exams. They taught various life hacks to successfully complete the graduate course with flying colours. During the session, they shared many anecdotes from their time in MU and experience in the industry. Along with this they acquaint the students with the importance of regular classes. They also talked about how regular classes assist them in clearing the entrance exams. They also encouraged students to harness the required skill set and make the use of opportunities provided by the department in the form of various activities like guest lectures, expert lectures, workshops, AARAMBH, AAROHAN sessions etc. At the end of session, Ms. Aditi Dubey and Ms. Kirti Khuntwal were presented with ‘Best Student Award’ by Dr. Shekhar Jain, M.P. State President, Microbiologist Society, India (MBSI) and Mr. Yogendra K Verma, Head, Faculty of Life Sciences, for the session 2022-2023 under UG-Biotechnology and UG-Microbiology respectively conferred by MBSI. After this, Mr. Yogendra K Verma, Assistant Professor and Head, Faculty of Life Sciences, graced the students with his motivational words. At last, vote of thanks expressed by Ms. Teena Yadav, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences. The program was successfully coordinated by Ms. Teena Yadav and Dr. Shekhar Jain, Faculty of Life Sciences, Mandsaur University. All the faculty members were present during the program.
Outcome:
Alumni associations play a vital role in fostering industry-institute interactions, providing valuable opportunities for present students and facilitating the overall development of higher education institutions. The short alumni meeting held in the department paved a platform to the students for interacting with alumni. The alumni inspired the students through their success stories and guided them to move in right direction. They also guided them about the preparation strategy for various National level competitive exams.
