Interaction Session Between Two Living Legends

Preamble:

Geographically Mandsaur may be a small place but by virtue of actions and contributions Mandsaur has been significantly played a vital role in the field of education as well as in agriculture. Two living legends Shri Narendra Nahata ji (Hon’ble Chancellor of Mandsaur University at present) has a dream to make this part of the state of M.P. as an internationally known education hub and Shri N.S. Sipani ji (Chairman of SKAF, Mandsaur) although has made significant dents in agriculture not at state level but at national level also. Both of these personalities are still working very hard and intend to leave no stone unturned till final goals are achieved. In this context a 3 hours session was held at SKAF, Mandsaur on February 2021. A brief report is summarized herewith.

Brief description / remarks:

On February 14, 2021, Hon’ble Chancellor (Shri Narendra Nahata ji, Hon’ble Executive Chairman (Shri Rahul Nahata ji), and Dr. N.S. Sipani ji, Farmer Prof. & Chairman of IARI-SKAF along with the scientists of both sides [ Dr. R.A. Sharma, Director, Dr. Sanjay Singh, Assoc. Prof. & Scientist Agri. Biotech and Mr. Anand Rao Azad, Asstt. Prof. Plant Protection from MU, Mandsaur University and Dr. Ramraj Sen, Plant Breeder from SKAF, Changli, Mandsaur) had a long session including deliberations on different aspects and field visits of research experiments being done on Wheat and Maize crops.
At the outset, the Chairman of SKAF welcomed our Hon’ble Chancellor Sir by floral garlanding, presenting Memento, Sal and Sreefal.

Observations:

A very good need based research work is being done at SKAF in collaboration with ICAR-IARI particularly on wheat and maize crops. SKAF is maintaining a very good germplasm of wheat for different purposes. Chairman of SKAF appreciated the efforts of Hon’ble Chancellor of Mandsaur University to make Mandsaur as an Educational Hub. Apart from other subjects Mandsaur University is also imparting Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral Degree programmes coupled with research and Extension in the field of agriculture.

Prospects of Collaboration between Mandsaur University and SKAF:

During discussions there emanated an idea of mutual collaboration between Mandsaur University and SKAF in the field of Research, Trainings and Extension of technology. Chairman of SKAF and Hon’ble Chancellor of MU agreed in principle and stated that mutual collaboration between two Institutions would work as a catalyst and help speed up in achieving the goals of both the institutions. Thus is is a need to work out modus operandi in future in this context.
