Title: “Introduction to Science Communication”

Brief description / remarks:The Faculty of Life Sciences, Mandsaur University had organized a guest lecture on “Introduction to Science Communication” for the UG and PG students of Life Sciences on 18 December, 2021. The main objective of the guest lecture was elaborate the terms related to Science Communication, types of Science Communication and career Possibilities & Tentative Road Map. Prof.  (Dr.) Arunava Das, Dean and Head of Faculty of Life Sciences formally welcomed and introduced the guest to the participants. During the lecture Dr. Parvathi JR emphasized the scope of Science Journalist/ Editor (Media House), Science communicator (Freelance/ Journals/ organization), Press Information Officer (Institute/Organization/Company), Press release of product/process/news, Research accomplishments on website/Research Newsletter, PolicyProgramme officer, Science content writer (Blogs/Edutech/Companies/Multimedia), Curate Information, Story/documentary piece, Subject Matter Expert, Science author, Books to promote science. The event concluded successfully with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mohammad Irfan Ali, Faculty of Life Sciences. 

Outcome: This Guest lecture provided a detail information about science communication and journalism to facilitating students for science projects. At the end the guest speaker answered all the questions raised by the participants. The students found the lecture very interested and informative.
